Global Startups contest INNOPRENEURS Season 11 ends on a high note


The 11th season of INNOPRENEURS, a global startup contest, concluded with an engaging Grand Finale event held at Chitnavis Centre, Civil Lines, Nagpur, on Saturday, April 19, 2025. This impressive event was organized by the Nagpur-based startup ecosystem, Lemon Ideas. It showcased the innovative spirit and entrepreneurial talent of India's new generation. Notably, this contest is promoted for the Hindi language, with 25% of the teams presenting their ideas in Hindi, making it a truly inclusive initiative.


A Diverse Participation


This season saw an enthusiastic response with 1000 registrations from various parts of India and abroad. In the Grand Finale, top teams competed, including 25 startups and 10 innovative ideas. Among them were three teams from Nagpur: Agrilogique, SmartAgriERP, and the IIIT team Ctrl P. Additionally, participants came from numerous Indian cities such as Amritsar, Bangalore, Bhilai, Dharamshala, Hisar, Hyderabad, Indore, Jaipur, Lucknow, Mumbai, New Delhi, Patna, and Pune. A standout participant was OUI Inc., a startup from Tokyo, Japan. They developed an innovative product that transforms mobile phones into tools for ophthalmologists to detect cataracts. This project earned them a place among the Top 10 startups that pitched for top honors.


Spotlight on the Judges


The jury for the event featured distinguished experts, including Dr. Sameer Pingle, Director of Symbiosis Centre for Management Studies, Dr. M.D. Kshirsagar, Founder of Genetek Life Sciences, and Mr. Satin Katiyar, CEO of Kratin LLP. Their valuable insights and experience added depth to the judging process.


Celebrating Groundbreaking Ideas


The Grand Finale showcased a broad array of diverse and groundbreaking ideas. In the Innovative Idea category, the winner was Team Phyzio-Mize from Symbiosis, Pune. They are developing a physiotherapy solution that enhances rehabilitation by using real-time joint motion tracking. Nagpur’s Ctrl P team from IIIT was the first runner-up, while Klimb, an all-women’s team from Lucknow, secured the second runner-up position.


In the startup category, the overall winner was Techdome from Hyderabad, known for creating an AI-powered ERP for manufacturing organizations. The first runner-up was InstaSTOP from Patna, recognized for their patented blood-stopping bandage. Gyandweep from Indore, which creatively presents ancient Vedic scriptures in a new digital avatar, took the second runner-up position.


Startup Spotlight: Japan’s OUI Inc. Shines at Innopreneurs Season 11


Taking a step further on Lemon's Japan footprints, OUI Inc., a health tech startup from Tokyo, Japan, stood out at Innopreneurs Season 11 with its groundbreaking invention, the Smart Eye Camera (SEC). Founded by Dr. Eisuke Shimizu, this innovative device turns a regular iPhone into a portable eye examination tool, making it possible to perform detailed eye checks anytime, anywhere, even in remote areas. With AI-powered features like cataract detection and telemedicine capabilities, it is backed by a Patent registered in 6 countries, 23 international research papers, and supported by dozens of awards and grants. Represented at Innopreneurs S11 by Dr. Rohan Khemlani, OUI Inc. is on a mission to make eye care more accessible around the world.


A Glimpse into the Lemon Ideas Journey


Deepak Menaria, the founder of Lemon Ideas, reflected on their journey over the past 11 years. He highlighted a new trend toward legal-tech and culture-tech startups observed in this season. Menaria emphasized the importance of using AI mindfully for the betterment of society, showing dedication to ethical tech development.


Looking Ahead to Season 12


The Grand Finale of INNOPRENEURS Season 11 was a remarkable testament to the innovative spirit and entrepreneurial prowess of India's bright minds. It sets the stage for an exciting Season 12, which has already attracted 150 entries even before its official announcement, indicating the global popularity of the INNOPRENEURS brand. The hardworking Lemon team, including Amol Muley, Ashwin Korde, Padmanabh Nabira, Saee Joshi, Vikram Mitra, and Yash Sontakke, contributed to making Season 11 a resounding success.
